Last updated on · ⓘ How we make our floor plans

This is a compact two-story cottage plan with a clean 20′ x 20′ footprint per level. The layout is efficient, stair-centered, and delightfully allergic to wasted hallway space.
We have an updated version of these plans based on your feedback.
The façade reads as a quaint Victorian-inspired cottage. A steep front gable, decorative trim, and a projecting bay window deliver charm in measurable doses. Horizontal lap siding is the natural choice here, paired with painted wood corner boards and simple skirt/lattice at the base. The roof is a dark asphalt-shingle assembly with a secondary dormer element for upper-level daylight and headroom.
These floor plans are draft drawings and are available for download as printable PDF files. Expect clarity, easy scaling, and the kind of linework that does not argue back.

A straightforward entry leads into a large living room occupying the front and left side. The stair sits near the center, keeping circulation tight. Kitchen and service spaces cluster to the right for practical plumbing runs—your future self will applaud quietly.

Upper Floor

The stairs arrive at a compact central landing with doors distributed efficiently—no marathon corridor, no drama. One bedroom anchors the left side. A full bathroom sits near the center/top. The remaining right-side area is shown as an unlabeled open volume under the roof geometry, suitable for flexible use.

We have more facade options of this design:
White Exterior Paint

Repainted to bright white, the facade flips from muted to crisp; clapboard siding, the faceted bay, and the arched gable window now read like fresh linens. Gingerbread brackets and the drop finial feel like icing, while the charcoal roof and round-top dormer pop louder against the lighter field.
White also recasts the porch: trimmed posts, dainty corbels, and railings look razor-clean, letting the warm wood door play star of the show. The lattice skirting lightens the base, and sharper shadow lines along the siding and bay facets make this petite Victorian seem taller—proof that a paint job can whisper and still be heard.
Forest Green Exterior Paint

Swapping to forest green changes the whole vibe: the clapboard reads deeper, the shadow lines sharpen, and the gables feel taller.
The arched window in the front gable and the petite dormer stand out like punctuation marks, while the faceted bay gains extra dimension. Even the lattice skirting tucks into stealth mode.
That richer color turns the natural wood door into a warm focal point and makes the metal railings look purpose-built. Decorative brackets and trim now outline the porch and eaves with crisp contrast.
The gray roof stays neutral, letting the new hue do the bragging. Small cottage, big forest-energy.
Lavender Color Siding

The facade just switched to lavender, and the whole cottage leveled up. Clapboard, the projecting bay, and the steep front gable now glow, making the lacy brackets and tiny corbels throw sharp, cute shadows.
Even the arched gable window and the winky eyebrow dormer read bolder against the soft tint.
That color jolts the contrasts: charcoal shingles feel deeper while the natural wood door snaps forward like a friendly exclamation mark.
The porch frieze, slim railings, and lattice skirt look more delicate, corralling the composition so the vertical bay feels taller and tidier. Small footprint, big lavender energy.
Multicolored Slatted Siding

Reworked with multicolored horizontal slats, the facade now reads like a cheerful barcode. Stripes wrap the bay window, surge up the front gable, and band the dormer, turning every plane into a lively field.
Cream trim crisps the edges—around the arched windows, the porch brackets, and the lattice skirt—so the colors don’t run wild, just playful.
The new bands sharpen the geometry: corner boards cut the palette cleanly, and each window casing frames its own little painting.
The warm wood door acts as the calm anchor in the chroma storm. Even the petite gable ornament and eyebrow dormer pop louder, like the trim had an espresso and decided to sparkle.
Black Color Siding

The facade is now painted deep black, turning this petite Victorian into a crisp silhouette. The front gable, arched attic window, and carved brackets shift from quaint to dramatic, while the faceted bay reads like a shadow box.
Stealth mode, but with trim.
Black also spotlights the warm wood entry door and the small arched dormer, which now pop like exclamation points. Porch posts, rails, and lattice recede into one graphic plane, tightening the composition.
Window muntins sketch the glass like fine ink lines—a modern‑goth wink.
