Clerestory Cascade With Cedar Contrast Floor Plan

This design presents a crisp, single-story modern home with a strong mid-century mood: clean lines, efficient planning, and daylight-forward glazing.

The facade composition is horizontal and deliberate. Low-slope shed roof planes stack in a tidy cascade, with deep overhangs and a band of clerestory windows for extra sky. Exterior cladding mixes horizontal wood siding with dark shingle-style panels (fiber-cement look), trimmed in bright, sharp white. Roofing reads as a standing-seam or smooth membrane expression suited to low pitch. The entry is punctuated by a bold, red door—because subtlety is overrated at the front step.

A straightforward, practical rectangle: public rooms to the left, private rooms to the right, and service spaces tucked up top for maximum efficiency. The entry lands centrally, then the plan fans out with minimal wasted corridor. Outdoor living is treated seriously—porch out front, deck out back. Two different “sit outside” options, no committee required.
