24 Dreamy Modern Spanish Mediterranean Houses for Summer Bliss

Last updated on June 5, 2026 · How we make our designs

See how our modernized Spanish Mediterranean homes turn white stucco, terracotta, shady courtyards, and slim terrace-side pools into a relaxed summer look. It even makes wet towels seem part of the design.

These houses are our take on Spanish Mediterranean summer living, where white stucco, terracotta roofs, and shady courtyards still feel familiar but a lot less fussy. We pulled from old Andalusian patios, coastal villas, and garden casas, then cleaned up the lines so everything feels breezy enough for bare feet and a lunch that runs a bit late.

As you move through the designs, notice the black framed windows, stretched arches, timber eaves, and those slim pools tucked right up against the terrace. That mix is kind of the point, classic bones with a fresher edge, so the houses feel polished without acting like they need perfect behavior from wet towels.

Keep an eye on the planting too, because the olives, cypress, agave, jasmine, palms, and rosemary do a lot of the charm work. They soften the crisp geometry, settle the courtyards into the landscape, and make the whole mood feel like summer forgot to leave.

The white stucco walls and terracotta roof keep this home tied to classic Spanish Mediterranean roots, while the slim black framed windows give it a cleaner more current edge. Exposed wood eaves and wide openings matter here because they soften the crisp facade and make the house feel breezy instead of buttoned up.

The pool terrace is set up like an outdoor living room, with low slatted wood seating, pale stone paving, and a layout that keeps everything close to the water. Drought friendly planting and the old olive tree bring in that sun soaked coastal mood, and yeah, it makes everyday lounging feel just a little suspiciously resort like.

The crisp white stucco, terracotta roof tiles, and warm wood trim give this house a classic Spanish Mediterranean soul, just cleaned up for now. Black framed windows sharpen the facade and keep it feeling tailored instead of fussy, which is kind of the sweet spot here.

We shaped the courtyard around a slim plunge pool and a shaded dining porch, because summer living should be only a few barefoot steps apart. Cypress, bougainvillea, agave, and clipped shrubs soften every edge and make the space feel lush without getting too precious, thank goodness.

This tucked courtyard pairs crisp white stucco with tall black arched doors, giving the whole place that polished old world meets new build feel. We took cues from quiet Andalusian patios, then kept the palette calmer so the pool feels like the star without showing off too much.

Herringbone brick paving, climbing vines, and terracotta pots soften the geometry and keep the space from feeling too pristine, which is always a bit suspicious anyway. The built in sofa and neat fireplace turn one edge into an outdoor living room, so even a narrow courtyard feels generous and ready for long summer afternoons.

Clean white stucco walls and a crisp boxy form give this house that modern Mediterranean calm, while the clay tile roof keeps one foot firmly in tradition. We took cues from old Spanish villas, then sharpened the lines and stretched the arched openings so the facade feels airy instead of fussy.

The courtyard is wrapped in pale stone paving, low lounge seating, and a slim pool that cools the whole setting without hogging the yard, which feels polite for once. Black framed windows add contrast, the climbing vines soften the geometry, and that built in hearth niche sneaks in a cozy note that makes the place feel lived in from day one.

White stucco walls and soft terracotta rooflines give this house a clean coastal ease, while the arched entry and slim iron balcony keep one foot in old Spain. Warm wood doors, stone paving, and a compact plunge pool make the courtyard feel polished but still ready for wet towels and lazy afternoons.

Olive trees, palms, and chunky clay pots soften the crisp geometry and make the setting feel settled instead of freshly staged. The sandy planting beds and low woven seating keep everything relaxed and earthy, which is why that little turquoise pool gets to be a bit of a show off.

White stucco walls, clay tile roofs, and soft arched openings give this casa that classic coastal warmth, while slim black window frames and a neat iron balcony pull it into the present. Those sharper details matter because they keep the silhouette fresh and clean instead of tipping into theme park territory, which nobody wants.

The inspiration came from old Spanish Mediterranean homes tucked into lush garden estates, though this version leans a little more resort and a lot less formal. Dense palms, weathered clay pots, and the pool pressed right up to the terrace turn the whole setting into an outdoor room, so even a lazy afternoon here feels suspiciously glamorous.

This courtyard leans into white stucco walls, deep wood trim, and iron Juliet balconies that give the whole place that old coastal soul without feeling stuck in the past. The arched glazing softens the massing, while the slim plunge pool slips in like the smartest summer move in the whole house.

We kept the seating low and generous so the patio reads like an outdoor living room, then layered in terracotta pots, agaves, and climbing vines to relax all that crisp plaster. It borrows from Andalusian courtyards and polished resort patios, but in a cleaner way, because nobody wants a beautiful terrace that feels a bit too precious to enjoy.

White stucco walls, curved rooflines, and that little bell shaped chimney pull from classic Spanish Mediterranean houses, but the crisp lines keep the whole place feeling fresh instead of fussy. The long narrow pool sits right against the terrace so the courtyard feels like one easy outdoor room, which is smart and a little irresistible.

Brick paving, turquoise waterline tile, and muted teal doors add color without turning the patio into a postcard souvenir shop. Palms, climbing vines, and the built in bench soften the architecture and make the space feel private, cool, and very ready for a lazy afternoon that somehow lasts all day.

This courtyard pulls from Andalusian precedents with white stucco walls, tall arched steel doors, and chunky timber eaves that keep the facade feeling grounded. Climbing jasmine softens the crisp black frames, which matters because that contrast is half the magic and a touch less bossy with leaves wrapped around it.

We kept the lounge low and relaxed so the architecture stays front and center, with pale stone paving and weathered wood adding an easy summer mood. The little balcony with potted ferns gives the upper level a lived in charm, like the house decided to put on earrings.

Creamy stucco walls, deep arches, and slim black framed doors give this courtyard a polished Spanish Mediterranean look that feels calm right away. We pulled from old Andalusian garden houses here, then cleaned it up with sharper lines and a second floor balcony that makes the whole facade feel a bit more tailored.

The climbing vines, olive branches, and chunky potted ferns soften all that structure so it never gets too formal, which is nice because nobody wants a patio that feels uptight. Low teak seating and a simple wood deck keep the outdoor room relaxed and useful, while the oversized arched openings tie the lounge and dining spaces together in a way that just feels easy.

The crisp white stucco and simple massing give this courtyard a fresh update on a Spanish Mediterranean home, while the terracotta roof keeps the whole thing warm and familiar. Black framed windows sharpen the look, and that compact pool is small but mighty, basically the architectural version of a perfect summer nap.

We leaned into palms, agaves, and silvery shrubs so the garden feels lush without turning into a full time commitment. Built in planters and pale stone paving keep everything clean and breezy, and the low loungers make it all feel a bit resorty in the best way.

This house pares Spanish Mediterranean charm back to crisp white planes, clay tile caps, and slim black steel windows that sharpen every edge. The stepped massing keeps the profile calm, while the tucked entry and small rooflets make the facade feel welcoming instead of too polished.

Around the water, agaves, yucca, and palms swap out a fussy lawn for a cleaner desert garden that suits the heat and keeps upkeep blessedly low. Pale paving, raised planters, and simple loungers make the outdoor zone feel breezy and fresh, like the house is permanently on holiday and yes, it knows it.

White stucco walls and a warm wood front door give this house that clean Mediterranean calm, with just enough contrast to keep it from feeling too polished. The clipped roof tiles and deep wood eave nod to old Spanish homes, but the lines are sharper and a bit more relaxed, like they finally took a vacation.

The stepped pebble walkway is the little scene stealer here, pulling you through drought friendly planting with agave, grasses, and an airy olive tree. That mix matters because it softens the crisp architecture and makes the entry feel cool and welcoming, not stiff in a white shirt.

This entrance leans on crisp white stucco, warm wood doors, and a petite clay tile eyebrow that gives the facade an old world wink. We shaped the approach with rounded river pebbles and simple concrete bands so the walk feels relaxed and a little barefoot friendly, which is never a bad sign.

The planting borrows from Mediterranean gardens with olive branches overhead, citrus tucked close, and soft mounds of rosemary, lavender, and agave around the path. That layering matters because it cools the arrival, adds privacy, and makes the house feel settled into the landscape instead of plopped there on a Tuesday.

This courtyard entry pares the Spanish Mediterranean look down to its prettiest essentials, with creamy stucco walls, a soft arched portal, and a slim black steel door that gives the facade a crisp update. The herringbone brick paving keeps it tied to tradition, but it still feels fresh and a bit dressed up, like linen sandals that somehow go with everything.

Planting does a lot here, from the feathery olive tree to the sculptural agaves and lavender tucked along the edges, so the approach feels cool and settled instead of fussy. Built in benches, clay pots, and those low tiled rooflines help the space feel intimate, and the big palm overhead is basically the courtyard’s parasol with better manners.

This stucco entry borrows from old Andalusian houses, with clay barrel rooflines, creamy plaster walls, and a tall arch that makes coming home feel just a little grand. We brought in slim black framed windows to sharpen the look, so it feels current without losing that sun soaked Mediterranean ease.

The herringbone brick path keeps the courtyard relaxed and textured, while agave, soft grasses, an olive tree, and sweeping palms make the whole approach feel breezy and settled. Raised white planters and weathered pots help organize the greenery, which is important because a front entry should feel inviting, not like it is grading your outfit.

The planting draws from dry Mediterranean gardens, mixing olive trees, sculptural succulents, and soft flowering edges that keep the clean walls from feeling too proper. Warm wood doors and black framed windows bring in contrast, and the rust toned cushions look a little sun kissed, which honestly suits the house just fine.

Layered rosemary, lavender, agaves, and palms soften the geometry and make the approach feel tucked away, almost secret in the best way. We added the built in sofa and warm wood doors for a softer touch, because a summer house should look polished but still say go ahead sit down.

White stucco volumes and warm timber details give this courtyard home that breezy vacation feeling without trying too hard. We tucked the pool close to the walls so the whole place gets a little blue water wink, which is pretty hard to resist in summer.

The balcony and deep wood overhangs nod to old coastal casas, while the cleaner lines keep everything current and easygoing. Gravel planting, olive branches, and low loungers make the setting feel relaxed and cool, like it always knows where the best shady spot is.

The crisp white stucco keeps the facade cool and simple, while warm timber beams and railings sneak in just enough softness so it does not feel like a fancy cube dropped in the garden. That small upper balcony is a clever touch, giving the front a perch and making the pool terrace feel tucked in.

We pulled from coastal Spanish houses, then trimmed back the fuss so the greenery and water could enjoy a bit of attention too. Pale paving, low loungers, and drought friendly planting make the courtyard feel easy and breezy, which is really all a summer house needs.

We wrapped the patio in layered greenery and oversized clay pots so the approach feels private and a little bit vacation minded, in the best way. The wicker lounger turns the entry into an outdoor room, which is smart because a pretty corner like this should never be wasted.

This entry pairs creamy stucco walls with a soft arched porch and that curving stair, which is basically the architectural version of a graceful wave. We shaped it to feel tucked in and welcoming, while the black steel doors and rail keep the whole thing crisp and current.

Brick treads, clay roof tiles, and sandy gravel bring in that old world Spanish mood, but the planting keeps it fresh and relaxed instead of museum precious.
