24 Modern Art Deco Facades for a New Exterior Design Vision

Last updated on December 14, 2025 · How we make our designs

Check out our modern art deco facades with dominant stripped‑back Deco lines, glass, metal, and light turning everyday entrances into a ceremony.

We’ve been a little obsessed with what happens when classic Art Deco grows up, calms down a bit, and moves into today’s streets and homes. These facades riff on 1930s civic halls, cinemas, ocean liners, and skyline crowns. But we’ve stripped away the fuss, kept the rhythm, and let light, shadow, and reflection do a lot of the talking.

As you look through them, watch how the vertical lines keep nudging your eye upward while big glass grids, glass block, and bronze-framed bays pull daylight back down to human scale. Sunbursts, carved reliefs, clock towers, and glowing crowns are all there, just tuned so they feel more like confident accents than costume jewelry.

Pay attention to the thresholds especially. The pavilions, porticos, corner pavilions, and stair towers where stone, metal, and glass suddenly tighten up and get very intentional. That’s where these projects quietly turn everyday arrivals into little moments of ceremony, even when it’s just you, your keys, and a grocery bag.

Sunlit Civic Relief Facade

This facade plays with rhythm the way a good jazz track does, using tall fluted piers to march steadily along the sidewalk while those generous gridded windows keep everything feeling light. We leaned into warm stone panels carved with stylized figures, so the wall tells a quiet story about people and movement rather than just standing there like a blank billboard.

The inspiration came from classic Art Deco civic buildings, but we stripped away the fuss and kept the bold geometry, the vertical energy, and those almost theatrical shadows. Large panes of glass frame the sky and street reflections, so all that ornament doesn’t feel stuffy, it feels alive and changing through the day.

This facade leans into those bold vertical ribs, giving the building a quiet, confident posture that feels a bit like a tailored suit. The deep blue-gray tone keeps everything calm while the warm glow from the gridded windows softens the rigor and makes it feel surprisingly welcoming.

We pulled inspiration from classic 1930s cinemas, which you can see in the stepped parapet and the crisp geometric band of scrollwork running across the upper level. Even the round wall lights and slim entrance canopy are deliberate, tiny accents that guide your eye upward and make the narrow frontage feel taller and grander than it has any right to be.

Tall green terracotta piers give the facade this calm, leafy vibe, almost like someone stretched a garden up the street wall. Bronze-toned window frames break the vertical lines just enough, so the building feels elegant instead of stern.

Those big gridded windows bring in a ton of daylight and quietly echo classic industrial lofts, which keeps the whole thing feeling honest and a bit romantic. At the roofline, stepped parapets and little deco fins crown the composition, adding that subtle theatrical flair that makes people stop, look up, and maybe nearly walk into a lamppost.

This facade plays with classic deco moves but keeps them super clean, using tall fluted wall planes and shallow reliefs to stretch the house visually and make it feel a bit grand without shouting about it. The black-framed grid windows cut into those planes like crisp graphics, so when the lights are on inside the whole front glows like a softly lit display.

We wrapped the corner with that curved balcony to bring in a little ocean-liner glamour, while the slim metal railing keeps it light and not too precious. Down at ground level, the wide glass entry and simple garage opening are framed in strong rectangles, and the straight garden path slices through the lawn so the whole composition feels calm, controlled, and maybe just a tiny bit dramatic.

The design leans hard into that dramatic golden sunburst, like the building woke up and decided it was time to be the main character on the block. Deep black marble at the base and those tall fluted piers pull the eye upward, giving the whole entry this calm but confident vertical rhythm.

We wrapped the door in a delicate metal canopy that layers geometric patterns over the glass, a little nod to jazz-age theaters where arriving felt like an event. Slim brass fixtures and trim echo the gold crest above, tying light, shadow, and shine together so every arrival feels just a bit more cinematic than it probably needs to be, in the best way.

This facade leans into that classic Deco drama, but softens it with a warm amber glow that feels almost hospitality-level inviting. The tall vertical light fins and that lantern-like bay push your eye straight up, giving the entry a sense of ceremony without shouting about it.

Bronze-toned metalwork traces bold, geometric patterns that nod to jazz-age glamour, while the pale stone frame keeps everything calm and grounded. The reflecting pool at the base doubles the glow and adds just enough theatricality that arriving here feels like a tiny red-carpet moment, even on a Tuesday.

This facade plays with classic Art Deco geometry but strips it down to clean planes of ivory stone and sharp black detailing, so it feels both glamorous and surprisingly calm. The tall glass-block windows pull daylight deep inside and kind of show off at the same time, framed by those slim metal grids that give everything a tailored, almost jewelry-like edge.

The door sits like a polished centerpiece, with layered panels and brass lines echoing the rhythms of the windows, so when you walk up it really feels like an entrance, not just a way in. Flanking sconces, chunky pilasters, and those oversized planters bring the scale back to human, softening the monumentality so you get a bit of drama without feeling like you’re sneaking into a movie palace after hours.

This facade leans hard into the drama, wrapping the corner in creamy marble and vertical gold fins that catch every bit of low afternoon light. We took the classic sunburst motif and pushed it across the upper panels like a repeating sunrise, so the whole corner feels like it’s lit from behind even on a cloudy day.

Tall bronze-toned windows stretch between crisp pilasters, giving the elevation a proud, almost theatrical rhythm while still letting in a very down-to-earth amount of daylight. The stepped entry, fluted metal canopy, and tightly detailed grillwork all nod to 1930s glamour, but they also guide people in intuitively, proving that a little old-school elegance still works perfectly for modern city life.

This facade plays with that classic deco rhythm, stacking tall steel-framed windows between chunky vertical piers that feel almost like folded curtains in concrete. The raised band of subtle scrollwork just under the parapet keeps it from getting too serious, like a little wink above all the clean lines.

We leaned into the contrast between the cool, slate exterior and the warm interior light, so at night the whole front reads like a lantern pressed into the streetwall. Simple round sconces punctuate the verticals, not just for glow but to break up the massing, so the building feels inviting instead of like a moody fortress.

This facade plays with vertical rhythm, stacking tall glass bays between bronze fins that almost feel like a giant, tailored pinstripe suit. The herringbone metal panels slip between the windows like jewelry, catching light differently through the day so the whole face never quite looks the same twice.

We pulled the warm glow of the interiors right out to the street, letting the slim mullions and clear glass read like luminous ribs around a calm, planted heart. The raised garden terrace and geometric railings soften all that metal with greenery and texture, so the building feels both precise and surprisingly relaxed, like a city dweller who finally discovered weekends.

Tall piers, deep window recesses, and that big arched entry give the facade a calm, confident rhythm that feels a bit like a modern-day train hall dressed up for downtown life. The warm stone cladding softens all that structure, catching sunlight in a way that keeps the building from ever feeling too stiff or corporate.

Vertical window bands slide between the pilasters, stretching the proportions upward so the mass feels lighter than it really is, which the neighbors quietly appreciate. Subtle geometric carvings, striped awnings, and dark metal frames bring in the classic deco vibe, proving you can nod to the 1930s without looking like you’re stuck in a movie set.

This facade leans hard into vertical drama, with ribs of warm metal and stone pulling your eye straight up to that glowing crown. Layered setbacks step back like a modern ziggurat, so the tower feels slimmer and a bit theatrical without actually trying too hard.

We carved in crisp geometric panels and subtle floral motifs, little nods to jazz-age glamour that still feel surprisingly fresh on a busy city block. The warm uplighting stitched into every recess does more than look pretty at sunset, it turns the whole face into a softly lit beacon that feels welcoming instead of just tall and impressive.

The tower stacks upward in crisp vertical ribs of warm metal and glass, so it feels like the whole thing has been combed straight into the sky. Each setback peels away with stylized fan motifs, a quiet nod to classic jazz-age silhouettes but tuned for a tighter, modern skyline.

Up top, the crystalline crown catches daylight like a cluster of ice shards, turning the roofline into a little piece of theater you can see for miles, and at night it glows like it’s slightly showing off. At street level, the pale stone base anchors all that shimmer, giving the entrance a calm, dignified frame so the ornate bronze detailing and tall portals really underline that sense of arrival.

This facade leans into a rich bronze palette, where tall glass bays are framed by razor-sharp vertical fins and intricate geometric metal screens that glow like lanterns at dusk. The patterning riffs on classic Art Deco sunbursts and diamonds, but we thinned everything down so it feels crisp and contemporary instead of museum-piece heavy.

Around the entrance, the golden portal and canopy create a little theatrical moment, turning a simple doorway into something that feels almost like stepping onto a stage. Those stacked lines, layered frames, and precise joints aren’t just decoration; they guide the eye upward, play with reflections, and quietly make the whole street feel a bit more glamorous than it probably expected on a Tuesday.

Champagne Vertical Deco Gatehouse

The facade leans into those classic 1930s skyscraper vibes, with tall fluted piers pulling the eye straight up like an urban cathedral to optimism. A deep-set entry portal, framed by a crisp sunburst relief, makes arriving feel a bit like stepping onto an old movie set, minus the dramatic soundtrack.

Bronze-tinted glazing softens the rigor of the stone grid, giving the vertical lines a warm glow that changes through the day and keeps the elevation from feeling too stiff. Layered setbacks, chevron carvings, and slim metallic trims are all doing quiet work here, catching light, breaking down the scale, and reminding you that geometry can have a sense of humor too.

The facade leans into a moody palette of glossy black cladding, then breaks it up with warm bronze ribs and playful teal sunburst panels that feel like tiny celebrations between the windows. Those tall, narrow openings stretch the whole height, so the building looks slimmer and a bit taller than it really is, which is always a nice architectural magic trick.

At the base, the stepped stone portal gives the entrance a kind of cinematic drama, like you should be walking in with a tailored coat and a purpose. The flanking planters, trimmed and orderly, soften all that vertical power and make the whole composition feel welcoming instead of severe, grounding the design in everyday city life.

This slim tower in our portfolio leans proudly into its corner site, stacking tall ribbons of glass between chunky limestone piers so it feels both delicate and tough at the same time. The rounded brick drum on top softens all that vertical energy, like a tailored hat finishing a very sharp suit.

We pulled in classic Art Deco cues—fluted pilasters, stylized relief panels, and those wraparound metal balconies—to give the facade a cinematic, almost stage-set presence on an otherwise quiet street. Every groove and setback catches the light differently through the day, so the whole stair tower becomes a kind of urban sundial, just with less math and more style.

This façade leans into classic Deco verticality, with tall bronze-toned window bays pulling the eye straight up from the water’s edge like quiet little elevators for your gaze. The stepped massing at the corners softens the bulk, so the whole tower feels both monumental and strangely approachable, like it dressed up but still came to hang out by the canal.

We played with a restrained palette of warm stone and metal, letting the sunlight do most of the ornament work as it grazes those shallow flutes and recessed panels. The generous waterfront plinth, with its broad stairs and low planters, frames the entrance as a calm outdoor room, turning what could’ve been just another blocky riverfront box into a place that actually invites you to linger a minute.

The facade leans hard into those vertical lines, with ribbed pilasters and stacked window bands pulling your eye straight up like a quiet little skyscraper anthem. Between the stone and the glass there’s this calm rhythm, almost like sheet music in elevation, which is kind of the whole point of the composition.

Just above the main doors, the carved relief panels bring in that classic Deco storytelling, celebrating people, work, and movement in a way that makes the stone feel surprisingly alive. Those big arched openings at the base soften all the geometry, making the entry feel welcoming while still holding onto that dignified, civic sort of confidence.

This facade plays with layered ribbons of white, wrapping soft curved corners around the front like a very calm ocean liner parked in the neighborhood. Vertical glass panels stretch two stories high, giving that crisp deco rhythm while pulling daylight deep into the rooms behind them.

We added the circular window almost like a little ship’s porthole, a small wink to classic streamline motoring along the street. Clean bands above the garage and entry tie everything together, keeping the house simple on purpose so the proportions, light, and sharp black detailing can quietly show off without shouting.

The facade leans into calm confidence, all clean planes and soft stone tones, then snaps to attention with those sharp black window grids and railings. We were chasing that classic Deco rhythm, so the stacked bands at the roofline and balcony give a subtle, almost musical repetition as your eye moves upward.

Tall, slender columns frame the recessed upper terrace, making the front read a bit like an outdoor room floating above the street, which feels surprisingly cozy once you’re up there. Down at ground level, the warm timber door and neat garden edge soften the geometry, proving you can be a little bit glamorous and still be a good neighbor.

This facade takes classic deco geometry and gives it a soft sunset twist with mint and coral fins running like a spine up the tower. The crisp white walls keep everything feeling clean and bright, while the deep-set windows add those nice little shadows that make the relief work actually earn its keep.

We pulled the colors straight from a lazy beachfront evening, so the building feels calm but still a bit glamorous, not too serious about itself. Planters in chunky geometric shapes, slim wall sconces, and that stepped entry frame quietly guide people in, proving you can be both practical and slightly dramatic on the walk from car to door.

This facade leans into a very calm drama, stacking slim vertical bays so the dark pilasters feel almost like fabric pulled tight over the building. Up top, the stepped crown and etched relief panel nod to classic 1920s deco, with those little circular medallions acting like quiet buttons on a very serious coat.

At street level the pale stone base breaks the severity, with crisp horizontal joints and a doorway wrapped in geometric carvings that catch the light just enough to show off. The metal-framed doors and clean glazing keep it firmly in the present, letting the whole thing feel like a restrained urban monument instead of a museum piece, which is exactly the balance we were chasing.

This facade plays with light like it’s got all afternoon, using warm brick, creamy stone, and tall bronze-framed windows to stack up a really calm kind of grandeur. The vertical piers push your eye upward while the softly arched heads over the glass keep it from feeling too stiff, almost like the building actually knows how to relax a bit.

Leafy bas-relief panels tuck into the spandrels and parapets, a little nod to the optimism of early city skyscrapers where geometry and nature tried to get along. Even the deep-set entry with its layered jambs and crisp grooves earns its keep, giving people a sheltered, ceremonial moment as they step inside instead of just, you know, walking through a door.
