18 Stunning Modern Mediterranean House

Last updated on June 26, 2026 · How we make our designs

Check our modern mediterranean house models. Stucco, arches, citrus pots, and shady courtyards make modern homes feel old enough to have a favorite espresso cup.

We pulled these modern Mediterranean house designs from places we never quite get over, Tuscan hill towns, Amalfi terraces, old vineyard cottages, and seaside lanes where every balcony seems to have opinions. Creamy stucco, terracotta roofs, arches, shutters, and iron rails are all here, just kept clean and livable.

What we love most is how the gardens lean right into the houses. Vines, citrus pots, olives, lavender, little fountains, pools, pergolas, and stone paths make each home feel settled, not like it was dropped in by a very confident helicopter.

As you look through the designs, pay attention to the outdoor spaces as much as the walls. The courtyards, loggias, terraces, balconies, and shaded porches are where these homes really relax, probably with an espresso they forgot to finish.

This villa leans into classic Mediterranean charm with creamy stucco walls, terracotta roof tiles, timber shutters, and a sweet little wrought iron balcony that feels ready for morning coffee. The arched entry and stone path bring in that old coastal village feel, but the layout keeps it neat and modern.

We shaped the garden around the house, with climbing vines, citrus trees, potted flowers, and a compact pool that makes the whole place feel like a tiny holiday. Those details matter because they soften the architecture, add privacy, and make the home feel lived in, not like it is trying too much.

This villa takes its cues from Tuscan hill towns, with warm stucco walls, clay barrel tiles, and sage green shutters that feel relaxed without getting sleepy. The balconies and flower boxes soften the tall façade, because every good Mediterranean house deserves a few plants acting a bit smug.

The arched loggia wraps the courtyard with shade and places to sit, while the patterned tile paving keeps the outdoor room feeling cheerful and lived in. Stone trim, slim iron railings, and potted olives add texture in all the right spots, so the whole place feels collected over time, not ordered from one very intense catalog.

This cliffside cottage pairs white stucco walls with a weathered clay tile roof, then lets green shutters and bougainvillea bring the fun. The design was inspired by small coastal villages where homes tuck into stone terraces and pretend the sea view is no big deal.

The stone stair, low garden walls, and layered planting make the steep site feel easy to move through, not like a mountain goat test. Twin chimney caps, deep window reveals, and the shaded entry porch add texture while keeping the house cool and comfortably rooted in its rocky garden.

The arched loggias and deep terraces are not just pretty, they give shade where you actually want to sit without melting into your espresso.

Climbing greenery softens the tall walls, while potted olives, lavender, and bougainvillea make the courtyard feel collected over time. The balustrades, stone trim, and tiled patios add a classic touch, but it still feels relaxed, like it knows dinner outside is the real floor plan.

This compact villa design leans into old coastal towns, with a terracotta barrel tile roof, cream stucco walls, and dark timber trim that feels warm without getting fancy. The deep balconies, tiny shutters, and flower boxes give every window a purpose, mostly to look charming and maybe judge the courtyard below.

We pulled inspiration from village houses where the best room is often the covered spot outside, so the arched ground arcade creates a breezy place for chairs, pots, and slow coffee. The climbing greenery, cobbled entry, and little fountain soften the façade and make the home feel settled, like it has already learned the neighbors names.

Cream stucco walls, layered terracotta roofs, and arched galleries give this coastal villa that relaxed Mediterranean look people chase with vacation photos. The design takes cues from hillside villages, where balconies, shutters, and flower boxes make the upper floors feel cheerful without trying too much, because nobody needs a fussy balcony.

The courtyard is arranged around the pool and pergola, so meals, shade, and a quick splash all sit within a few steps. Stone garden edges, clay tile paving, and tall planting soften the height of the house, making the whole place feel settled into the coast rather than perched there like it forgot its shoes.

This little Mediterranean casa pairs white stucco walls with terracotta barrel tiles, timber shutters, and a deep arched porch that keeps the entry cool and shaded. The layout was inspired by island homes where the garden is not an afterthought, because nobody wants the olive tree looking like it was invited last minute.

A tiled pool court, gravel paths, and low stone walls divide the outdoor rooms without making them feel boxed in. The pergola with climbing blooms softens the front door, while potted herbs and succulents add color, scent, and that relaxed holiday mood we all pretend is just practical landscaping.

The tall cream facade is stacked with arched loggias, slim iron rails, and warm wood doors, so every floor gets its own breezy little perch. Its narrow shape feels inspired by coastal village streets, where homes grow upward because the sea view is too good to waste.

Terracotta barrel tiles crown the roof, while the timber pergola and climbing flowers soften the height, which keeps the whole place from feeling too formal. Potted palms, olive trees, and the small courtyard fountain bring in that relaxed Mediterranean mood, with just enough greenery to make watering day a mild workout.

This compact Mediterranean villa takes its cue from old vineyard homes, with a terracotta tile roof, creamy stucco walls, and a stone chimney puffing away like it knows dinner is soon. The grape covered balcony is more than decoration, it gives the facade shade and that lived in garden feel without making the house seem fussy.

Sage shutters, arched stone trim, and timber posts keep the palette soft and earthy, while the low garden walls make the entry feel tucked in and calm. Lavender, olive trees, and potted herbs pull the landscape right up to the front door, because a Mediterranean home should always look like someone might hand you bread and olive oil.

This coastal villa leans into creamy stucco, clay barrel roof tiles, and tall arched glazing that pulls the sea view right into the rooms. The black iron railings and lantern sconces give it a crisp edge, so it feels polished without acting too fancy about it.

We shaped the terraces around slow outdoor days, with timber pergolas, climbing greenery, and a pool set low enough to let the coastline stay in charge. The planting takes cues from Mediterranean hillsides, mixing olives, lavender, palms, and bright flowering vines because a house like this needs a little garden gossip.

The steep terracotta roof gives this cottage a playful Mediterranean profile, with little dormers tucked in like they know the best gossip. White stucco walls, timber framed windows, and a stone arched entry pull from old hillside villages where every doorway feels a bit like an invitation.

The balcony adds a sweet perch over the patio, while wrought iron rails, window boxes, and climbing wisteria soften the edges without getting too fancy. Garden paths, a small pond, and fruit trees wrap the home in color, because frankly a house like this would look lonely without a few flowers showing off.

The villa takes its cue from old Riviera hillside homes, with arched windows, clay roof tiles, and warm stucco walls that feel relaxed but still polished. The balconies and deep window frames add just enough detail, like jewelry that knows when to stop.

The raised pool and stone terrace make the outdoor rooms feel connected to the coast below, which is exactly the point. Bougainvillea wraps the pergola with a bit of joyful chaos, because apparently even plants want the best seat at sunset.

Potted herbs, climbing vines, and olive trees soften the stone paving and make the outdoor rooms feel relaxed, not too precious. The round windows, iron railings, and deep arches add just enough craft to keep things charming without making the place feel like it is wearing a costume.

The curved stair brings a small sense of arrival to the front, and yes, it is probably where every family photo happens. Flower boxes, clipped shrubs, stone paving, and the neat pool terrace soften the crisp layout, making the whole place feel relaxed and very easy to live with.

This compact farmhouse takes its cues from old Tuscan hill homes, with sun aged stucco, green shutters, and a clay tile roof that feels pleasantly rumpled. The arched porch and tiny iron balcony give it a lived in charm, like it already knows where the good coffee is kept.

Around it, low stone walls, lavender beds, potted herbs, and olive trees make the garden feel just as designed as the house. Those details matter because they soften the structure, frame the entry, and make the whole place feel tucked into the countryside rather than placed on top of it.

This coastal home leans into classic Mediterranean charm with its terracotta roof, creamy stucco walls, teal shutters, and arched openings that feel cheerful without trying too much. The design was inspired by old seaside villages where every terrace seems built for lunch, naps, and pretending emails do not exist.

The layered patios, pergola dining area, and pool create easy outdoor rooms that connect the house to the garden and ocean views. Stone paths, palms, bougainvillea, and potted plants soften the edges, giving the whole place that relaxed vacation mood but still feeling very livable.

Soft apricot stucco gives this home a warm village feel, with green shutters and arched windows adding that relaxed Mediterranean charm. The tiered clay roof and small tower loggia were inspired by old hillside homes where every balcony had a view, or at least a very nosy neighbor.

We wrapped the garden close to the walls so the roses, wisteria, lavender, and cypress feel like part of the architecture. Iron railings, stone trim, and potted blooms keep it elegant but still friendly, like a house that knows where the good coffee is.

This courtyard villa takes its cue from hillside villages where every stair landing becomes a tiny reason to pause. Cream stucco walls, terracotta roofs, and patterned tile risers keep the setting warm and relaxed, with enough ornament to make even the steps feel a bit fancy.

The upper balcony and shaded pergola are wrapped in flowering vines, giving the home that lived in garden feel without getting too precious about it. A small fountain, citrus pots, iron rails, and arched doorways pull the courtyard together, so it feels social, calm, and ready for someone to misplace their espresso.
