How We Make Our Floor Plans

All floor plans you can see on our site are made 100% manually using CAD software.

For presentation, we sometimes pair floor plan images with house design images. Our design creation process apply to those.

We like to be transparent about our creation process, and we also believe you may find it interesting. So here’s the process:

Step 1: Choose a House Design

We start by choosing an already existing house design from our library. That way we already have the final visual concept for the house. Some design firms prefer the reverse process (starting from the floor plans), but this is what we prefer. Mainly because we have created a very large library of architectural designs (that you find freely accessible on our site).

Step 2: Make the Floor Plan Draft

Using CAD software (such as AutoCAD, but we use other tools as well, including our own proprietary software) we make a floor plan draft. The layout is up to the designer at work or client requirements (if any).

Step 3: Render Visuals

We add textures and graphics to floor plan drafts for concept visualization. We may sometimes use AI tools to apply textures. This is purely visual and the AI never alters the actual plans.

Step 4: Publish the Drafts

We publish our floor plan drafts for free on our site. PDF printables are also made available. Each plan bundle (including multiple floor plans, rendered plan images, elevation designs, house renderings) gets its article on the site. Here we may use AI in part to generate descriptive text, which is always reviewed and edited.

Step 5: Client Requests

If a floor plan receives interest from a client, we move the project further. Drafts are then revised and made more accurate to meet client project requirements. Work done for our clients is exclusive and never shared publicly.
