JUST REMEMBER: you must block your existing roof vents (or remove them as I did) so they can pull the cooler air in from under the eaves (vents) to circulate. These things ROCK!!
Try and get the panel positioned so that when it’s raised it’s almost flat pointed N or S, not E or W (otherwise the sun will not hit the solar panel and the fan will turn off even when there’s still a little hot late afternoon sun)
Note that once this is mounted, you have no access to the thermostat or off/on switch. Bad design. Some kind of access from outside would allow customer adjustment of the controls. There is a low voltage plug that just hangs down inside the fan unless you tie wrap it out of the way.
To save money, it would be good to have a model that does not come with the included non-adjustable roof jack.
The directional adjustments for the solar cell are excellent and easy to fine tune toward the sun. The fan is very quiet and that is appreciated. I hope the fan lasts a long time. You can feel the hot air being exhausted with your hand in our hot California sun.

I've had an ongoing convo with Iliving about this. First, they tried to blame it on "improper installation". When I pointed out that the water intrusion was through the seam in the unit, not from the interface with the roof, they said the leak happened because the seam wasn't caulked. I pointed out to them that the installation manual says nothing about this seam needing to be caulked. They replied that the damage done to my ceiling is not covered under the warranty. They refuse to take any responsibility for anything. These fans work well but if you have an issue, don't expect any help from Iliving.

Lowered the temperature in the attic by around 5 degrees celcius.
*UPDATE* quit working after only 8months of use. The fan no longer works even in direct sunlight. Junk product.
Going to return the product.
